If you enjoy blazing your own trail up
a rugged hillside, down a wooded canyon, or through a brushy
creek bed, the Turk Ranch is the place for you to visit. Are
you tired of well defined trails with strict regulations about
not leaving them? Then get away from it all and hike or bike
the Turk Ranch.
This challenge will not be for everyone. You
will need to be in strong physical conditon and aware of the
hazards of the area (such as rattlesnakes and dangerous ledges,
etc.). Many of the canyons will change with every turn you
take. The trees will be different, the rock bluffs awesome.
There are cactus blooming in the spring and always the possiblility
of seeing wildlife.
For those who need less challenging terrain,
there are many places close to roads from which you can take
short walks with equal opportunities to see birds, wildlife
and interesting plant life.
If mountain biking, bring ample
tire repair equipment as nearly every plant has thorns. There
are many roads that can be used if you want to spare the tires.
This is a great place to practice your GPS skills.
Our day
use charge for hiking or biking is only $10.00 per adult and
$3.00 per child over 3 and under 18. Group rates available.
Vehicles or ATV's may be used on
existing roads only and not at high speeds. Special rules and
safety suggestions will be given to you upon arrival. Advance
